Back up the hill..
This weekend was spent back in the blueies. It pissed rain Saturday, so we went for a 5 hour hike into the Grose valley with Kevan, Catherine (the new girlfriend), Penny (who lives with Catherine - actually, its Penny's house) , Penny's friend Wendy, me and Mikl. All good, it rained. We got wet. Unexpected: leach infestations! Apparently i am terrified of leaches and emit girly screams when they are anywhere near, or on, me.
Sunday we slept in, camping back in Jeanies place in hartley Vale - she's not back from Tassie, aparently she sailed back slowly and is enjoying roasts, wine and amazing views as they sail up the coast. She also got to be skipper. So after a lateish start, we headed out to Mt York, which is normally too hot to climb after 7am but was great in the overcast and cool weather. Mikl did a bunch, and I lead a "14 (5-7)", but it was a crack corner and I found it quite taxing. Then I seconded a 19 (5-10a), which was good as it was covered in flat edges that I could strengthen my ligaments on. Mikl did a few other things, then we drove back down the hill, stopping on the way to visit Mikl's niece who is back from her overseas travels where she picked up a boyfriend, and is now living with him and his parents. They are desperately trying to rent a plcae with a few friends, and less parents.

Hey Ness, glad you're out climbing again. Damn finger tendons to hell is all I can say - I'd been hoping to head up to the Blueys until I retweaked mine (and everyone decided to bail to Tassie instead, probably a good move). Melbourne is hot, but far less humid than I remember it being - guess that's what a summer in DC does for you.
Did you scream as bad as you scream when you see a spider?
